Change through time is the theme. The material, the raw silk, becomes the message itself in the large-format works. Painted, washed, dried, sanded and mounted on frames, the silk goes through all the processes involved in the fragmentary depiction of the ships.

Disused fishing boats are pulled to the beach in Brittany to die. Waves, wind, heat and cold gnaw at the hull. The ships disbanded after a few years.
Photographed with 6x6 Rolleiflex SL 66 SE on negative, digitized, not retouched. Classic prints on baryta paper.
